Description
Scherzo Fantasque comes from Decruck’s early period of composition. The music fuses virtuosic passages drawn from the classical scherzo, modal scales and harmonies as well as French cabaret song within its capricious musical sections—all which give the work an improvisatory feel. It was dedicated to French bassoonist Fernand Oubradous and the Société des Concerts du Conservatoire. Melissa Kritzer, Matthew Aubin and The Chelsea Symphony performed the work on June 3, 2017 in New York City. Contact Matthew Aubin for newly engraved parts.
